Justice for Principal of St. Joseph's High School, Juhu

The Issue

Dear Supporters,

I, Mrs Linda D'costa, am writing this petition with a heavy heart to bring attention to a matter of grave injustice at St Joseph's High School, Juhu. As the headmistress of this esteemed institution, I am nearing my retirement in September 2024. However, my  approval is being unjustly withheld by the newly appointed Manager, a priest.

I have dedicated 27 years of my life to this school, with the last five years spent as the Principal. Despite my long-standing service and commitment to the institution, I am facing severe mistreatment and have not received the Principal's salary that I am owed since I took up the post.

The unfair actions of the Manager include:

  1. Tampering with Documents: The Manager tampered with my documents meant for submission to the education department and issued a directive to halt my approval. This was confirmed by the education inspector upon my inquiry.
  2. Refusal to Sign Approval Papers: On five occasions in March 2023, he refused to sign my approval papers, a routine procedure typically conducted without incident by previous managers.
  3. Removal of Confidential Files: The Manager surreptitiously removed my confidential file from the school premises, storing it in personal quarters within the church for five months, as confirmed by a senior clerk.
  4. Favoritism and Unsubstantiated Allegations: The Manager has shown favoritism towards a faculty member who has made unsubstantiated allegations against me, using familial legal connections to bolster these claims.
  5. Fostering Discord: He has actively fostered an environment of discord among the school staff, soliciting grievances against me and spreading misinformation.

As a widow caring for ailing children and bearing financial responsibilities, the approval for my retirement is crucial for our well-being and the fulfillment of our obligations. Despite numerous visits to various Education Departments, police stations, advocates, the Vashi board, and the Archbishop's office, I have been unable to obtain the justice I seek. This relentless struggle has not only exhausted my financial resources but has also severely impacted my mental and physical wellbeing.

Please sign this petition to support my call for justice and help ensure that the manager adheres to the principles of fairness.

With utmost respect and sincerity,

Linda D'costa
