🧡 “He Wrote Every Word with Love” — Neil’s Mandarin Lessons Before the Ban

These photos were taken before the social worker banned Neil from speaking Mandarin and blocked all contact with his mother’s family.

At just 6 years old, Neil sat with joy, writing every stroke of Chinese with his little hands — filled with love for his language, his culture, and his mother.

Today, he is banned from speaking Mandarin. He is forbidden from seeing his family. His mother’s voice, his culture, and his identity have been erased — by court orders and a social worker’s choice to follow the abuser’s demands.

Neil’s trauma didn’t begin at birth. It began when he was taken from his safe, loving family and forced to live in silence — no hugs, no home language, no freedom to say “I miss you.”

🧡「每一筆都是愛」——被禁止前，尼爾的中文學習時光

這些照片拍攝於我們在台灣，被社工禁止尼爾說中文之前，那時他只有6歲，滿心喜悅地一筆一劃寫下每一個中文字 —— 這是他對語言、對文化、對媽媽深深的愛。

如今，他被禁止說中文，也被禁止與母親的家人聯繫。他不再能聽見媽媽的聲音、不被允許擁抱自己的文化和身份 —— 這一切，來自法院命令和社工服從施暴者要求的選擇。

尼爾的創傷不是從出生就開始的，而是從他被帶離安全、充滿愛的家庭，被迫生活在沉默和隔離中開始的 —— 沒有慈愛、不能說母語、不能說「我想你」。
