“This is a heartless pirate. Do you see who this is?”
Neil drew this during a short family time in 2024. He told his mother, “This is a no-hearted pirate… do you know who it is?”
Neil was 8 years old.
He couldn’t say everything directly — but he knew how to show it.
Through this simple drawing, Neil expressed what no court report, social work summary, or judge’s words were willing to show:
- That he is afraid.
- That he feels unloved, unseen, and betrayed by the very people meant to protect him.
- That he has lost trust in the system.
Since this drawing:
- Neil has been completely cut off from his mother and all maternal family.
- He is forbidden from speaking Mandarin — even to his own siblings.
- He lives under strict control, in emotional silence.
