Justice for Moose
Mar 5, 2016
Feb. 18 was the preliminary hearing where witnesses testified. It was very emotional and the testimony was heart wrenching. Graphic photos were shown of the necropsy (autopsy) showing all the abuse poor Moose suffered. Based on witness testimony Moose's murderer, Mikah Johnson, of Green River, Wyoming, was charged with two more counts of animal cruelty for his abuse of Moose, and one count of domestic violence against his now ex-girlfriend. The ex-girlfriend was protecting Moose when Johnson physically assaulted her. Johnson has fled Utah and is now staying in his hometown of Green River, Wyoming. He is still allowed no contact with children or animals and his other dog, Ottie, was removed from his care months ago. Thanks to all of your efforts Johnson is no longer a student at Westminster College, was evicted from his apartment, and was not allowed to join the Marines (he was claiming to be a USMC fighter pilot). Progress is being made slowly but surely. Please sign, share, and promote our petition and you can still submit a letter requesting Johnson receive the maximum punishment by emailing a PDF of your letter to melodys@utcourts.gov with Case number 151912221 in the subject line. Johnson's next court hearing is March 11 at 9 AM at 450 South State Street, Salt Lake City, UT, Room W-43. The honorable Katie Bernards-Goodman is presiding.
