Update; the purpose of this update is to propose an idea for the new ending. At a certain point players will come across a Scroll of True Resurrection. This scroll can not only revive the dead, but regrows any organs missing. The ending proposes a sequence where you temporarily kill Karlach, remove the engine from her, before using the scroll.

It uses a key, important item in a way that makes sense, it would not be too difficult to implement, and it serves as a significantly more satisfying fate; she no longer has to return to Avernus, she's not going to die, and she can actually exist in peace on the surface. That is a lot more satisfying than her "best" endings being becoming a mind flayer or exploding.

In Baldur's Gate 3, there are a variety of romance and companionship options to choose from on your journey. One of which is Karlach, a Tiefling Barbarian that took players by storm by being a likable, charismatic, incredibly well written character.

However, due to her admittedly rushed status being put into the game, there is no good ending for her. Due to an engine placed in her chest, she is likely going to burn out and die no matter what the player does. In a world where practically anything is possible, the fact that she can't be saved is honestly laughable.

Rumors suspect that because she was added so late into the game and due to datamined files of ending slides, there are theories that there WAS a quest to give her a permanent happy ending or fix her engine. All this petition is looking for is to fulfill a more satisfying ending to one of the game's most lovable characters. 

Many players, myself included, refuse to play through the rest of the game, subsequent playthroughs, or even refunding the game until this is patched in.

Currently on the Larian Studios Discord server, the feedback group that is the largest on their entire server, with nearly 70,000 messages and comments, is directly related to Karlach and seeking a new ending or expressing dissatisfaction at the current selection. It is nearly guaranteed that it WILL be added by them and a better, more permanent ending will be put in; this petition is just to get everyone in one place

This petition is lobbying for her to receive a better fate where she can be saved, and to get Larian's attention.
