I called the cemetery today and asked if they could clean Joy’s headstone. Maybe that’s on me for waiting so long, but while we were talking, he mentioned it had never been done before. 

Then he asked how I was related to her. I tried to answer and just started crying. 😭

He said he’d send me pictures after it’s cleaned, and I don’t know why, but it just hit me so hard today… how much time has passed. How cruel time really is. 

Time is such a thief. It steals voices, laughter, moments, and somehow the world just keeps moving while you’re standing there still missing someone with every part of you.
