We have created this petition to seek justice for Jaime’s tragic and senseless murder. Jaime was a family man. He was an amazing son, loyal brother, inspirational uncle, and loving friend whose life was stolen by Joseph De Luna. We are asking for accountability, change, and action to ensure no other family endures this pain. Please stand with us in demanding justice for Jaime.

Jaime Zamora was murdered by Joseph De Luna on March 2, 2025. Joseph claims Jaime got violent but as soon as anyone who knows Jaime heard that, they knew it was false. Joseph claims Jaime told him he better come work for him, or he would hurt his family, but Jaime worked for cone company, so that makes no sense. Joseph wasn’t even a friend. He was an acquaintance. He was the neighbor of Jaime’s best friend’s cousin who had just hung out a few times. Jaime’s only fault was being too nice. Which is how he was convinced by Joseph to give him a ride and keep the night going. 

Joseph De Luna claims self-defense. But let’s look at the facts. Joseph kept flashing his fire arm all night prior to the incident. It is even known his Facebook was covered with firearm pictures which he deleted before his hearing. Jaime owned no firearm. Jaime was also the one driving while the Joseph was in the passenger seat. So why would Jaime even think of threatening him?! Joseph shot Jaime about 12 times, 6 of those were to the head. After, he EXECUTED Jaime, Joseph did eventually turn himself in. But think about it: Jaime was shot in the driver’s seat, yet his body was found in the back because he tried to drag him to the back. The car was disabled. There as no out for Joseph anymore. So he called the cops. And even then, he called practically everyone before calling the police. THIS WAS NO SELF DEFENSE as he claims. Who empties their clip, shoots an unarmed person 6 times in the head, and then tries to move the body if it was "self defense." That is just a poor attempt to try to get away with a horrible murder. 

On 03/17/2025, bail was granted for Joseph and set at $300,000. The judge said she did not hold De Luna because she did not find “that proof is evident and presumption is great,” a legal standard higher than probable cause and lower than beyond a reasonable doubt. But as the district attorney argued, “We have a victim who was shot six times in the head, once in the upper back…One of the gunshots was a close bullet wound that left residue on his head. This is not a self-defense type argument.” IT MAKES NO SENSE.

Having a $300k bail means Joseph can hire a bail bond company and only have to post $30k. And since he will be out of custody, it will be years until we get to see justice. How is it fair he gets to keep having family dinners, while we are here suffering for someone we will not get to see again thanks to him?

Based on information the family has received from people that knew him, this was thought to be an act of rage and jealousy because of an ex of Joseph De Luna. Not even for his wife and mother of his child, but an ex.

Jaime was only 21. He belonged to a close-knit family. They had just lost a brother the year before and their father a couple years before. Jaime was always willing to give someone a helping hand, no questions asked. He was an inspiration to his nephews and niece. Jaime had taught himself the accordion and had performed at several venues. He was on his way to making it big. Jaime had so much more to live for. He did not deserve this. JAIME DESERVES JUSTICE. 

We plead the judge to increase the bail. Joseph De Luna does not deserve to be out enjoying life as we mourn the loss of Jaime in his hands. If he can easily execute someone over jealousy, what makes you think he won't do it again? He is a risk to the community and deserves to be put behind bars for life.

We strongly urge the legal system to shed light on this case and dispense justice in Jaime's name. Jaime deserves that justice. Sign this petition to advocate for Justice. Email the detectives handling the case to make sure they turn every rock and do not treat Jaime like any other case, especially since they already have the murder. Email the DA's fighting for Jaime to not stop fighting for justice. To not forget about Jaime. Email the Judge to put Joseph behind bars because he is a risk to the community.
