The Issue

I’ve been incarcerated over 2 years; for a crime I didn’t commit.

My family are fighting to clear my name, but we need your help.

Please sign and share the appeal link.

A message from my family…

Our beautiful mum, our doting granny the ever-loving wife and caring person is world apart from what the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) witnesses said about her.

These cps witnesses changed their statements multiple times.
These cps witnesses perverted the courts of justice.
These cps witnesses committed perjury to mislead the jury.
The police failed to investigate the crime scene.
The police failed to interview key witnesses.
The police failed to preserve the crime scene.

We could go on... all will be revealed with your help.

Today we need your signatures on mum’s petition so parliament can review the case.

Please sign and share the appeal link now.

We are broken. We need our Mum, Granny, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Auntie and friend home.

Let’s see what social media can do today x

______

Grandmother of three Gillian Leivers is a gentle Christian who does not belong in prison.

Gillian had no official role at her husband’s company Greenfeeds Ltd yet she received a 13 year prison sentence for two counts of gross negligence manslaughter and a health and safety offence.

Her husband Ian Leivers was sentenced to 20 months in prison for a health and safety offence. While Ian is now free; Gillian faces another decade plus behind bars. Gillian will be in her seventies before she is released.

Gillian was charged with failure to assess risks and implement safe working procedures when two men drowned in a tanker full of pig-feed. Gillian only went into the office that day because it was Christmas Jumper Day. We appreciate employers have a duty to adhere to health and safety guidelines, but Gillian did not instruct the men to enter the tanker. We are very sad that two men lost their lives but it’s senseless to imprison a grandmother who only ever cared for those around her.

Thirteen years in prison is an unduly long prison sentence for a health and safety offence. We have been told that had the tanker had a sticker on the lid saying ‘do not enter’ charges would not have been brought. Thirteen years in prison because of a sticker? This needs to change.

Witnesses called to the trial included people who hadn’t worked at the company for over ten years and employees the company had let go. Police interviewed one man who worked for her husband 30 years ago when he was a farmer, but failed to interviewed men at the scene of the incident. Staff members at the scene were either unidentified or incorrectly identified on CCTV during the trial. The trial was biased and littered with incorrect accounts of business practice. It was claimed that it was commonplace for staff to clean inside tankers, but this just wasn’t the case.

Gillian now needs your help for this serious miscarriage of justice.

Help fix this injustice and get Gillian home for Christmas.
