Dear Family, Friends, and Everyone Who Has Stood With Jaquai,

First, I want to sincerely apologize for not posting an update in a little while.

The past few weeks have been extremely difficult for me. There has been so much happening behind the scenes information coming in, and honestly, I have been so sick to my stomach and overwhelmed navigating it’s been just awful that it has sometimes been hard to think, process everything, or even find the words to speak it’s so devastating but GOD is good.New updates will be coming soon.

But today, I wanted to come back and say THANK YOU.

Thank you to every person who has signed the petition.
Thank you to everyone who has shared it.
Thank you to everyone who has prayed.
Thank you to everyone who has checked on me, encouraged me, and continued to stand with Jaquai.

Because of YOU, we now have 225 voices standing strong.

Our goal is 500, which means we are 275 signatures away.

We are getting closer.

And I want you to know that every single signature matters. Every share matters. Every prayer matters. Every person who chooses to stand beside Jaquai is helping keep Jaquai’s name, his story, and his voice alive.

Jaquai used to always say, “God always has a plan.”

And he stood on that.

He was right.

No one is greater than God.

Sometimes I can almost hear him joking with me right now, saying, “See, Momma? I told you.” 😂 That was Jaquai. He was always joking. Always making somebody laugh. He was the light in so many people’s lives.

And God, I miss him so much.

There are moments when the weight of losing my son feels unbearable. But even in those moments, I believe Jaquai is still with me in the journey. I believe he has been guiding me every step of the way and he will not let me give up I promised him. when I have felt weak, weary, and ready to fall through GOD he picks me right back up.

If he were here, I already know what he would say:

“Momma, get back up. Keep fighting.”

I can hear him saying it.

He is my drive.
He is my motivation.
Through GOD He is the reason I continue to persevere when I don’t know where the strength is going to come from.

And I can almost hear him laughing and saying,

“Hold on, Momma. Justice is right around the corner. See? I told ya!”

Then he’d probably laugh even harder and remind me,

“Now, Momma, you know nothing is hidden from God.”

So I am holding onto that.

I am holding onto my faith.
I am holding onto Jaquai’s memory.
And I am holding onto every one of you who has chosen to stand beside him and be his voice.

Today, I am sharing a video of Jaquai because I don’t ever want his voice, his smile, his laughter, or his story to be forgotten.

He may no longer be here to speak for himself, but together, we can stand in his place and make sure his voice is heard.

We are not just collecting signatures.

We are keeping his memory alive.

We are reminding the world that Jaquai mattered. His life mattered. His story matters. And his voice still matters.
