Dear Petition Signers,
We wanted to share a significant and meaningful update regarding Baby Faith's Journey. As many of you know, their journey began with their precious daughter, Faith Johnson, and your support through the petition has been a source of strength for their family.
This past Friday, the Johnson family held the inaugural Baby Faith's Journey Family Support Dinner at the the Health campus. It was a deeply moving evening dedicated to Faith's memory and a crucial step in continuing her legacy of touching lives.
As reported by the Winchester Star, the dinner brought together families caring for children with disabilities, providing a space for connection, information sharing, and a sense of community. Attendees learned about the resources and supports Baby Faith's Journey offers, from navigating medical systems and IEPs to accessing housing, equipment, and childcare – all services we know firsthand are vital.
Bryon shared his reflections on Faith, "I call her a person that touched people without words... we want to just keep that same energy that she had already possessed and carried. That's why they call her the child who raised the village." The dinner embodied this spirit, aiming to let families know they are not alone and to build a network of peer support.
Danielle spoke about the inspiration behind Baby Faith's Journey: "In the beginning, when we had Faith, we didn't know anything. We really had to search a lot on our own... so we compiled all these resources together so we could provide other families, so we can help them out."
With potential challenges to crucial support systems like Medicaid on the horizon, Bryon emphasized the importance of proactive support building within the community. The dinner served as a safe space for families to connect without the need for constant explanation, a sentiment we know resonates deeply with many.
We are so grateful for the initial support you showed by signing our petition. Your voice helped amplify Faith Johnson’s impact and paved the way for initiatives like this support dinner. This is just the beginning of continuing Faith's journey by building a strong and supportive village for other families navigating similar paths.
