We are writing to provide you with an update following the Johnson family's meeting with Child Protective Services (CPS) regarding the investigation into Faith Johnson's tragic passing.

While the Johnsons found the meeting productive, they have raised serious concerns about a significant conflict of interest. Specifically:

• The school resource officer (SRO) assigned to NREP, who is also a police officer, is leading the investigation.
• The SRO's wife is employed at NREP and was present at the school on the day of the incident.
• The SRO's wife is a close acquaintance of Mrs. Johnson, having been involved together in the school's Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO).
• Mrs. Johnson has evidence that this individual contacted her immediately following the incident and then subsequently removed her from social media.

This clear conflict of interest raises serious questions about the impartiality and thoroughness of the investigation. The Johnsons, and we, believe that an independent investigation is critical to ensure transparency and accountability.

We will continue to advocate for a fair and unbiased investigation into Faith's death. We believe that the Johnson family and the community deserve nothing less.
