Dear Petition Signers,
We have an important update to share with you!
Thanks to your incredible support and the growing momentum of our petition, The Winchester Gazette has taken action! They have sent an official inquiry to Dr. George Hummer, the Superintendent of Frederick County Public Schools, regarding the tragic death of Faith Johnson.
As you know, Faith Johnson, a young girl with Cockayne Syndrome, passed away due to complications stemming from severe negligence at NREP (Northern Regional Educational Programs). The Winchester Gazette's email to Dr. Hummer highlights:
- The family's concerns about the events of February 18th, when Faith's GJ feeding tube was forcibly dislodged.
- The distress caused by the lack of communication, accountability, and adherence to medical protocols.
- The demand for an official statement from the school district, including details about the investigation and preventative measures.
- A request for an interview to ensure accurate and transparent reporting.
This is a significant step forward! The media's involvement amplifies our voices and puts pressure on the school district to provide answers and take action.
What You Can Do:
- Continue to share the petition: The more signatures we gather, the stronger our message will be.
