My niece, Cherie Townsend was arrested in 2018 for a murder in Rolling Hills Estates.  She was released in 2018 because there was inadequate evidence linking her to this crime.  Cherie filed a civil suit against the Sheriff's Department because of there handling of the arrest.  In August 2023 Cherie was arrested again and charged for the same murder.  This is an attempt to create false accusations and charges in order to stop a 12 Million Dollar Law Suit. 

Cherie needs public support in signing this Petition to bring a corrupt legal system to an end.  The Sheriff's Department must be held accountable for falsely accusing and arresting Cherie for a crime she did not commit.   

Signing this Petition will help to reduce Cherie's bail so she can be reunited with her kids and her grandson, her daughter is in High School.  Our family has been torn apart by the injustice in arresting Cherie again.  They don't care about finding the person who committed this crime, they just want someone to be charged.  Cherie is the unlucky person who was picked.   

Furthermore, there is inadequate evidence linking Cherie to this murder.  I believe the filing by the Sheriff's Department is simply to stop her law suit.  This is their attempt to vindicate the Sheriff's Department.  Their trying to send an innocent Black Woman, Mother, Grandmother to prison for something she didn't do.
