Carlos Sainz, the Scuderia Ferrari driver has been regrettably affected by the decisions of the FIA in Formula 1.

To begin with, a couple of minutes into Free practice session 1, when the said driver was out on the track, the car had taken a massive hit from a drain hole cover which was not properly bolted down. This is a grave safety issue and an oversight by the organizers of the Las Vegas Grand Prix (LVGP) and proved to be so when the lack of competence had massively impacted the Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz. 

We are glad he is completely alright but when driving a formula 1 car at top speeds, they completely trust the organisers to have things in order. The drain hole cover proceed to hit the floor of the formula 1 car and resulted in irreparable damage. This by itself is a law suit waiting to happen. 

The FIA then decided to penalise penalise the Ferrari team and the driver to change the damaged parts through no fault of their own and the fault of the LVGP organisers.

While there are many things that are being considered by rules here and there... My only appeal is that through a humane understanding and sportsmanship, the least that could have happened is that the driver get a free change of damaged parts. I am in untter disbelief that there was not only any financial compensation to the Ferrari team but also a penalty to the driver for changing the damaged parts. Someone has to see how ridiculous this is, right?
