"Today, March 15, I received a message from my cousins about their dog, Simba, who was allegedly poisoned, possibly by a neighbor. A few days ago, that same neighbor had already threatened to poison their dogs. The root of the conflict? A land dispute.
Sadly, this is not the first time it has happened. Over the years, several innocent animals have already lost their lives because of this ongoing conflict.
I never expected something like this to happen so close to home. Our barangay has always been peaceful, and I have rarely heard of cruelty like this happening here. Yet the threat was just around the corner.
Simba is still breathing and is currently on the way to the vet for treatment. We are hoping and praying he survives.
Let this be a reminder: if you have grudges with your neighbors, leave the animals out of it. They do not understand land disputes, anger, jealousy, or revenge. They only know loyalty, love, and the people they trust."
