Justice for Anthony D'Onofrio!
The Issue
On January 29, 2022, our dear friend Anthony D’Onofrio was brutally murdered in front of Catrinas Restaurant in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
19-year-old Kevin Cuatlacuatl has been charged with the murder and the trial is ongoing.
This senseless act of violence is a part of a well-documented and dangerous pattern of reckless behavior inside and outside this establishment over the years. It is clear that the owners of Catrina's have no intention of following the law, no regard for the neighborhood in which they operate, and even less regard for keeping their own customers safe.
There are allegations from members of the community that this restaurant allows underage drinking, the sale of drugs, and unlicensed individuals to serve as their security.
In the case of the murder of Anthony D’Onofrio, the restaurant appeared to be negligent and passive as the situation unfolded. Additionally, their alleged serving of alcohol contrary to laws on age and failure to detect weapons on patrons appears grossly careless and irresponsible.
We want justice for Anthony, his family and friends, and the community at large! We are calling on law enforcement and elected officials to look into Catrinas and take appropriate action.
