I am renewing my efforts, with my moms assistance, to find justice for the sexual abuse inflicted on me as a child by my biological father and his parents—my grandparents. On Nov. 2, 2021, my mom contacted Day One in Providence, RI, this facility was recommended by Katie Mulvaney a News Reporter, as they specialize in sexual abuse cases.

One of their service coordinators stated they only aid with referrals to therapists/psychologists and law enforcement advocacy. My mom inquired of a law enforcement advocate in East Providence, but the coordinator stated she did not have that information only for Providence. She provided us with two Providence Police advocates.

My mom contacted one of the individuals and she was given some information on the process. The advocate advised I should go right away and file a report. She stated I should not wait even though my mom explained to her we were trying to find a therapist to aid me with my trauma.

My mom then contacted the East Providence Police Department and asked for an advocate. Officer Bill stated no one was available and inquired on the details of the case. He indicated he had found the case that was filed in 1999. He, then, stated I should speak with Law Enforcement Advocate, Mike Spagnoli.

My mom stated I wanted a female advocate, but, Officer Bill stated there was none— Mike Spagnoli was the only one specializing in sexual abuse cases. Officer Bill asked for our phone number, and stated we should speak with Advocate Mike Spagnoli first to see if it was worthwhile. He stated Mr. Spagnoli would call us that day but no one ever did.
