My heart aches as I recount the horrifying scenes of detention and torture that I have witnessed through videos and pictures. These gruesome images have left me traumatized, sparking an urgent need for action. Human rights violations are rampant in war-prone regions, with countless innocent lives being subjected to unimaginable cruelty every day.

According to the United Nations (UN) Human Rights, since 2005, hundreds and thousands of grave human rights infringements have been recorded (Ferrara et al., 2024). This includes arbitrary arrests, torture, enforced disappearances, and extrajudicial executions. We cannot stand by while these atrocities continue unabated.

We call upon human rights organizations and governments worldwide to take immediate action. We implore you to resolve these human rights violations and protect those who are most vulnerable in these war-prone regions.

The time for change is now - we must not turn a blind eye to this pressing issue any longer. Together, we can make a difference; together we can ensure that every individual's basic human rights are respected and protected.
