JUSTICE FOR ACARRIE INGRAM-TRINER

JUSTICE FOR ACARRIE INGRAM-TRINER
The Issue
On October 20th, 2021 Acarrie Lanae Ingram-Triner was senselessly murdered by Arieana Colbert.
In 2023 the court convicted Arieana to 47 years in prison.
This woman who shot and killed my cousin in cold blood wants to experience a life she was so quick to take away from another human being. The justice that Acarrie and her loved ones rightfully deserved back in 2023 is being jeopardized by loopholes in our very flawed legal system and the sentence is being overturned. It’s undecided whether another trial will be held or not, but to state the obvious- I’m simply livid.
Arieana and her legal team are trying to state that this was all an act of “imperfect self defense”. The woman who was in a physical altercation with my cousin, who grabbed her gun, DROPPED THE GUN, bent down to pick the gun back up, point it at Acarrie and pull the trigger apparently “feared for her life”. The girl who “didn’t mean to shoot and kill her”- who left her baby behind with her boyfriend (who was assigned to divert the cops), hid the gun in a creek and then was on the run until she was found did ALL of that because she “feared for her life”???
I understand there were very aggressive words exchanged during this altercation, but give me a break. It was two against one. Acarrie VS. Arieana and her boyfriend. There were so many witnesses who came out in Acarrie’s defense. It was caught on camera for God’s sake. Just because it wasn’t premeditated doesn’t make it any less of a fact that she killed someone and chose to do it.
I simply cannot comprehend how this is even happening. My cousin wasn’t perfect but this is the last thing she deserved and she was adored by so many who would fight for her any day of the week. This was a disgusting senseless act and I am horrified by the overturning of this sentence.
I don't even know where to start but I feel like this is a good place. If you knew my cousin, you know this is the last thing she’d let happen to any of her loved ones if the roles were reversed. She may not be here physically anymore, but I have to at least attempt and try fight for her.
Please sign, share, whatever you can.
Thank you.
