On June 6, 2025, 18-month-old Sebastian Gardner died after being left in a hot truck for more than three hours in Ormond Beach, Florida. While his son sat helpless in the heat, Scott Allen Gardner—his father—reportedly got a haircut and had drinks at a bar.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, Gardner gave investigators multiple false stories about what happened that day. Medical staff estimate Sebastian’s body temperature reached 111 degrees before he died.

No child should die this way—and no parent who abandons their responsibility so carelessly should avoid full accountability.

Gardner has been arrested and charged with aggravated manslaughter and child neglect. Now, it’s up to the justice system to ensure that this case is treated with the seriousness it demands.

We are calling on Florida state prosecutors and law enforcement to pursue this case fully and ensure the father is held responsible for this horrific crime.

Sebastian deserves justice. And no other child should suffer from this kind of deadly negligence.
