PICTURED IS THE ACTUAL AXE, among evidence recovered in 2015 by investigators near the NJT train point-of-impact. For reasons still unknown as 2023 begins, this long-handled axe - with possible blood stains on the head - was "lost" while in custody of the NJTPD. It is among several other items of potentially key evidence never subjected to DNA analysis because it was either lost, stolen, or maybe inadvertently tossed in the trash.
TO THIS DAY also unknown is whether any investigative agency ever conducted an internal review of the PD's evidence-handling procedures. So the question remains unanswered:
HOW DO YOU LOSE AN AXE?
If you have information about the whereabouts of this axe, or other evidence in the Tiffany Valiante case, please call 911. Your confidentiality can be maintained.
Thank you.
