I want to personally thank every one of you for signing the petition and my faith in humanity is slowly being restored. 

But, we have a way to go. I have contacted numerous large organisations, the reality of the domestic violence crisis extends to support organisations who are too understaffed to even share the petition. I have had many disheartening knock backs when I want to scream about the injustice affecting these survivors. 

They have published the figures for child rape cases and they are even more shocking. Children are also stuck in this inhumane system waiting 1-2 years to get to court. There are currently over 1200 awaiting prosecution. 

This petition serves as awareness as well as forcing the government to listen. Lesser crimes are heard, tried within weeks. As a survivor myself I know full well the impact on waiting in silence for years. It breaks you.
