 • COVID-19 Relief Efforts: Tory created the popular “Quarantine Radio” during the pandemic, raising funds and donating a portion of proceeds to families impacted by COVID-19.

 • Charitable Donations: He has actively contributed to causes supporting low-income families and homelessness initiatives, helping provide meals and essentials to those in need.

 • Back-to-School Drives: Tory has been involved in providing school supplies for children and families who may not otherwise afford them, promoting education and opportunity for youth.

 • Youth and Arts Programs: His support of music and arts programs aims to uplift young people, especially those in underserved communities, encouraging them to pursue their creative interests.

Supporting Legal Freedom for Fellow Inmates: While in prison, Tory has shown his commitment to helping others by funding legal representation and providing resources for other inmates, helping them pursue justice and fight for their freedom.

Impact on Family and Fans:

Tory’s absence has deeply affected not only his family but also his fans and the community that relies on his support:

 • Primary Family Support: As a primary support for his son, father, and son’s mother, his imprisonment has left his family in a challenging situation, both financially and emotionally.

 • Impact on Fans: Tory’s music and contributions have inspired and motivated fans around the world. His absence has left a gap in the lives of many who have looked up to him and followed his career.

   Concerns About Fairness in the Trial:

We believe that certain circumstances surrounding Tory Lanez’s trial suggest he may not have received a fair and impartial process:

 1. Alleged Bias Due to Industry Influence: Tory, a Black artist and independent creator, released his last project before going to jail without signing to Roc Nation, while the alleged victim, Megan Thee Stallion, is signed with Roc Nation. We believe this connection may have influenced his treatment in the legal process, given the power and influence of major music industry players.

 2. Suppressed Evidence and Key Witness Testimony: The court did not allow a key sober witness to testify, potentially leaving out crucial information that may have changed the outcome of the trial.

 3. Lost Evidence: Critical evidence, such as bullet fragments, was reportedly lost, raising questions about the integrity and thoroughness of the investigation.

 4. Inconsistencies in Testimonies: Megan Thee Stallion, the alleged victim, initially denied having a sexual relationship with Tory Lanez, yet she recently admitted to it in her documentary, calling her credibility into question. Such inconsistencies should have been addressed thoroughly in court to ensure a fair assessment.

Concerns About Legal Representation and Fairness:

We believe that Tory Lanez faced significant setbacks due to his former attorney’s conflict of interest and actions that hindered his defense:

  Conflict of Interest with the Alleged Victim: Tory’s original attorney had ties to Roc Nation, the label representing Megan Thee Stallion, the alleged victim in the case. This attorney accepted Tory’s case and payment without disclosing this potential conflict of interest. Only after accepting payment and seeing that Tory was unwilling to take a plea deal did the attorney inform him of her connection to Roc Nation. This situation raises ethical concerns, as any conflict of interest could have impacted her ability to provide impartial representation.

 2. Sudden Departure Mid-Trial: Midway through the trial, the former attorney left the case, reportedly giving the prosecution an advantage by disrupting Tory’s defense. This abrupt departure left Tory scrambling to secure new counsel and arrange additional funds to cover his legal costs, adding unnecessary pressure and hindering his defense preparations.

 3. House Arrest Misrepresentation: Tory’s former attorney reportedly told the judge that Tory agreed to house arrest for allegedly violating a restraining order against Megan, even though Tory maintains he never committed such a violation. This alleged misrepresentation added further complications to his defense and influenced the court’s perception of his actions.

These issues with his legal representation significantly undermined Tory Lanez’s ability to receive a fair and effective defense. This unfair disadvantage contributed to an imbalance in the trial proceedings, raising serious concerns about how effectively Tory’s interests were represented.

Tory Lanez has consistently maintained his innocence and has contributed positively to society through his philanthropic efforts, making a difference in the lives of countless people. As supporters, we feel that the system has failed to provide him with a fair trial, and we urge [relevant officials] to reconsider his sentencing and review the fairness of his trial. We are not only seeking justice for Tory Lanez, but we are also raising awareness of the broader issues within the justice system that disproportionately affect Black men in the entertainment industry.
