The Issue

We, the family are calling on the court to deny bail to Unathi Sazi and all others Siyamamkela Payi and Xolile Kosi charged in connection with the brutal shooting and murder of Zameka Ngoyi on the 24th of April 2022 in Stutterheim,Eastern Cape .

The accused, including the victims estranged husband are currently in custody awaiting trial. My mother was shot in front of her four children ,a traumatic act that has left deep emotional scars on us as her family, and has shaken the entire community. She was not just our mother; she was a teacher, a pastor, an evangelist, and a dedicated community leader who worked tirelessly to improve the lives of others. Her commitment to justice and equality ran deep .

Granting bail in this case would not only dishonor the memory of a woman who gave so much to her community, but would also endanger the safety and emotional well-being of her children, her family, and the wider public. It would send a dangerous message that such acts of violence can be met with leniency before justice is served. We believe justice and public safety demand that the accused remain in custody until the conclusion of the trial.

By signing this petition, we stand together in demanding that bail be denied for all accused individuals in this tragic and devastating case.
