In Julian Assange's Offical Statement from the Ecuadorian Embassy in the UK on Sunday 19th August 2012, Julian said, in part,                                                                                  "We must use this moment to articulate the choice that is before the government of the United States of America. Will it return to and reaffirm the values it was founded on? Or will it lurch off the precipice dragging us all into a dangerous and oppressive world in which journalists fall silent under the fear of prosecution and citizens must whisper in the dark?"

13 years later. Julian has now been free for 12 months thanks in a large part to people who refused to remain quiet and accept injustice, yet injustice continues in a world motivated by hypocrisy and greed.

Julian's somewhat prophetic words remain unheeded by world leaders as they continue toward a dark and dangerous future.

We must continue to raise our voices, demanding a pardon for Julian Assange, opposing hypocritical and secretive leadership, demanding an end to human rights abuses and accountability for the abusers.

We need leadership from people like Julian Assange.
