Hello everyone, First, thank you for helping us reach 10,000 signatures, Karan and Afarin are very humbled by the breadth and depth of support they've received. Second, the Muslim holiday of Ramadan has slowed the bureaucracy in Iran, so the appeal won't happen until Ramadan ends. Most importantly, I'd like to ask for your help. We know for a fact there are numerous smaller news organizations, mailing lists, and communities who want updates on cases like Karan's. For example, a periodical covering the global art community has reached out to me to get accurate information on the case. What I'd like to ask from you is to help my family by reaching out to just 1 magazine, newspaper, Iranian group, alumni group, or other group who has a stake in this case, and ask them to write a short article and link this petition. Google and Facebook are great resources to find an organization and its contact info. Sample text might be "Hello, I'm writing on behalf of Karan Vafadari and Afarin Neyssari, who are unlawfully imprisoned in Iran. Their case has a far-reaching legal impact on Iran's business and artistic communities, and I wanted to share the facts with you, or put you in touch with Karan's son who would happily do the same." For example, Karan is an alumn of Alborz High School, Cooper Union, and UCLA, so these would be good organizations to help us reach. The task is daunting for my family, but as a team I know we can move mountains! With hope, Cyrus
