Hello Supporters,
Over 30,000 people joined the campaign in October 2014 to stop my son Shahram Ahmadi’s execution. You asked Iran’s Judiciary Chief to stop Shahram’s death sentence and ensure that he receives a fair trial in line with international legal standards.
Initially, Shahram’s execution was put on hold. Now, Iran’s supreme court has reaffirmed Shahram’s death sentence and my son could be executed any day.
Shahram — like many other Iranian kurds — was critical of how Iran’s Shia government treats the Sunni minority. He was always peaceful in his activities and only wanted Kurds to be treated with dignity. Shahram was arrested when he was 20, severely tortured, and his forced “confession” was used to unjustly sentence him to death.
I am scared that I’m about to lose another son, the same way I lost my youngest child. The Iranian authorities arrested my son Bahram when he was only 17 and later executed him. When my wife heard the news she had a heart attack. They have not even returned Bahram’s body to us.
Join me today in asking the Iranian authorities not to take my other son away from me. YOUR VOICE HAS AN IMPACT. In February 2015, Iranian authorities had scheduled to execute another Kurdish young man, Saman Nasim. However, a widespread campaign forced them to reverse the death sentence.
You can help bring attention to my son’s case and speak out to the Iranian authorities about the unjust treatment of my son. Here are three things you can do to help Shahram:

Send a copy of your letter to United for Iran. They will publish your letter on their website and it can inspire others to support Shahram: voices@united4iran.org.
In hope,
Abdullah Ahmadi
