As the spring handbook review is soon to be happening, we can ask our principals to give the board some recommendations. As time and community members change we need to update our “community input”. The lawyer and board said that even community input don’t want to the code to change either . I read all Joshua ISD schools Campus involvement Committee minutes, none were presented with recommendations. The way they consider “community input” is from those on the Campus Involvement Committee. They decide “community input”. Only my campus did their input, but I don’t think that should be the representation of a community as a whole. Many see an issue but don’t want to speak. You don’t have to have a son to have an input on this. It’s okay to speak up. “Every word has consequences. Every silence, too.” - Jean-Paul Sartre The Campus and District Improvement Committees meet four times per year. The Campus dates are obtained by called the campus and asking to be given notice of those meetings. The District meetings are located on the District Website under Our District > Owl Pride.   If you would like to make any recommendations to the Campus or District Improvement Committees please do so by emailing your principal. I have also included them by campus down below. Making a recommendation does not guarantee that the request will be considered or granted.   JISD Administrators meet annually to review the student handbook which includes the dress code. This is not a meeting that is open to the public. The Administrators will consider recommendations by the District Improvement Committee if any recommendations are made but there is no formal meeting for parents to attend to provide input on the dress code other than making a request to a Campus or District Improvement Committee. From my understanding you may attend the meeting, do ask to be updated in correspondence.
