As I have mentioned before the steps to get a code on the board of trustees Agenda has several committees to go through before reaching their table. Steps to do this are 1. Write a letter to the principal of the matter at hand. 2. Principal will then submit to the Campus Involvement Committee (CIC).. On this committee is schools Principal, Vice Principal, staff, and some parents. 3. If it passed it will go to the District Involvement Committee (DIC). on this committee is staff from all schools, some community members, and school admins. 4. If it passes DIC it will then be put on the school of trustees agenda. Here's something that was pointed to me, the CIC and DIC have no say in the final judgement, they are just advisory to the board of trustees. (AS IF the board doesn't know it is a concurrent problem present and past, that they need "advice"). Well my CIC vote came back as 12-0 favor of NO change to the district code. That I thought killed my chances. I asked how else can it be put on the boards agenda, and the assistant superintendent says that a board member would have to ask the President to put it on the agenda for vote. Well we know where he stands, and that is a complete SHUT DOWN. He made his stand very clear the night at the board meeting. clearly stating that boys should have short hair and what is next for us to complain about, earrings? makeup? skirts?" I am still trying to figure out other options, but I believe I have hit a wall till Spring, where they "MAY" look at the code.
