Hello Everyone,

     The meeting for all of the projects today was long and sometimes contentious.  Although the commission voted to make Del Puerto Reservoir eligible for WISP support, the 5 to 3 decision was by no means unanimous, especially compared to the lop-sided approvals for the other projects on the agenda.  Backers of the DPR project have to return later with answers to many shortcomings identified by commission staff in order to apply for actual  funding.  They barely made the qualifiers, but there are still more chances for them to be disqualified or bested in the competition.  Groundwater recharge projects, like the one being developed in Turlock, have also emerged as cautious alternatives for dealing with some of the water shortfalls energizing the pro-dam lobby in the region.  The fight is far from over.  Keep spreading the word and stay tuned for more updates on how you can help to Save Del Puerto Canyon!
