Hello,

    With over 9,000 views and 250+ supporters, a big thank you to everyone who has decided to get behind this so far!  Here are some more things we can do to keep the momentum going and help spread the word:

* For those who live nearby or currently visit those areas of Del Puerto Canyon that are open to public access, try participating in citizen science.  Take pictures and upload observations of plants, animals, and other natural features you run across in DPC.  Doing this not only enhances our scientific knowledge, but also lets others know about the value of this place.

* Consider joining and supporting one of the several groups currently fighting to protect the canyon.  Save Del Puerto Canyon (savedelpuertocanyon.org) has also been organizing events posted on their website and social media pages.

* For those who are into journalism or blogging about science, environmental, and community issues, consider investigating and writing your own piece about the situation at DPC.

* Consider writing your own letter to one of the decision makers backing/funding the project.  Representative Josh Harder, Governor Gavin Newsom, Senator Dianne Feinstein, and Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland all have official office addresses, public emails/contact forms, and social media pages for their political campaigns.  While notifications sent by petitions like this one sometimes put concerns on a decision maker's radar, personal messages and letters - what Del Puerto Canyon, equity in nature space access, or anything else about this issue means to you - can collectively make a big impact.

* And finally, consider sharing this petition even just one time to another person or group.
     The more we can make people aware about this, the better our chances will be for making concerns about community access, educational needs, safety, and environmental issues heard just as much as the reasons put forth by project backers in the fight for Del Puerto Canyon's future!
