Thank you again for all your support in getting the word out about the fight over the future of Del Puerto Canyon! Recently, members of Save Del Puerto Canyon and the Patterson Progressive Alliance called on their groups to start personally writing letters and emails to Rep. Josh Harder and Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, who pledged to work with Harder on Central Valley water projects. Let's join them in their letter writing campaigns to voice concerns about the dams at DPC!
Representative Josh Harder's website says his office only wants to look at messages from those residing within District 10. So for those who live in or around Patterson, Turlock, or Modesto, you have an opportunity to make your voice known to him! For those who currently live outside of that area, let the other figures who've pledged to work with Harder, like Governor Gavin Newsom, Senator Dianne Feinstein, and Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, respectfully know just how much Del Puerto Canyon means to you, along with issues of inequality to nature space access, education, and environmental health. In addition to the contact forms and menus on their official websites, all of their campaigns have social media accounts to communicate with their constituencies as well.
Given the millions of dollars and pro-dam messaging that Harder and the water companies have brought to the arena, it will take many voices to make sure the concerns about the location of this project are heard. So, can everyone make a pledge to either (1) write one letter (or email) to Rep. Harder, Gov. Newsom, Sen. Feinstein, or Sec. Haaland, or (2) share this petition with at least one other person or group? Each contribution might seem small, but together we have a chance!
