Just like I warned the Special Committee for Commemorative Works when they made the suggestion to sell the statue, I feared that once it was in the hands of a private owner, that they would simply place the statue back on public land in Rhode Island. While Joseph Paolino now owns the statue and it is his private property, he does not have the right to display it on public land.
