Tuesday the 26th of September, the now infamous Columbus statue was erected in Johnston Memorial Park located 1583 Hartford Ave, Johnston, RI 02919. The statue was sold by the city of Providence to Joseph Paolino Jr., former mayor of Providence and is his private property. Johnston Mayor Joseph Polisena Jr. Is allowing this contentious statue back on public land. The statue will be unveiled on Columbus Day Monday, October 9 at 11am in a ceremony. I will be attending to protest and invite all who can to attend as well to make our indignation known.
