As a student for Paso Robles High School, I feel as if I should not be faced with the decision to either wear a mask in class and get an education, or attend a peaceful protest by not wearing a mask in class and possibly face suspension. My peers and I feel like no student across the nation should be punished for what they truly believe in their heart is right. I speak for most students in general when I say that it is unconstitutional and not acceptable to hold something over the students that they feel should be fought for. For example, the ¨protests¨ in Minneapolis all wanted to make a difference, they just chose the wrong way to go about it. We all have voices and we all want the same thing, to be heard, to not only make a difference in our community, but to make as big of a difference as possible in the world as the next generation and our nation’s youth. We want to turn the public's eye to us and help them understand why we do what we do, and come to an understanding of each other's point of view on certain controversial topics and issues. We the students are not pro getting rid of masks completely, we are all pro choice. We feel as every student should have a choice in whether they wear a mask at school or not but no student should possibly have their education stripped from them if they don't want to wear a mask in doors.
