Save the Low Water Bridge Committee
Nov 18, 2016
Now that the City of JOPLIN has agreed to save the low water bridge and put a new bridge closer to I-44, I will be closing this Change.org petition. Probably the most influential part of our Save the Low Water Bridge Committee project was your signatures and comments that totaled over 1700 during the past year....and I am most grateful for your concerns. The Facebook page and the website will remain active. Those two sites will be used to promote "Historic Landmark" designations for the Bridge and the Park by the City of Joplin this coming year, and the videos will remain available. The mere fact that the City decided not to destroy that bridge speaks volumes about it's historic value to the City, but we may need to write letters to get the ball rolling. The Save the Low Water Bridge project was a "Grassroots" movement that proves that Joplin area residents have a strong voice with City Hall when we all stick together. Thank-you again for your efforts. Ron Hart
