Hello! First of all, I would like to thank all those who have signed this petition! It's amazing to see how many people want to see change and give support! That almost two thousand people have given their signatures is breathtaking! You are the best! We have now received a reply from Jonas Andersson, Hälso- och sjukvårdsstyrelsen. He attached a document from a meeting they had recently. I have linked to it below. At the meeting, they decided to add 3.5 million kr to the budget for the psychiatric assessment of diagnosing gender dysphoria and increased accessibility to treatment of gender dysphoria. As far as I can tell from the document it is unclear whether the budget will be split between the assessment and the treatment or if the money will go solely to the psychiatric assessment. They also mention this: At the meeting on 19 December, the Director of Health was instructed to report the results of the HTA analysis on sex-confirmatory surgery to the Healthcare Board. Reports will be made later this spring. We intend to come back with suggestions for increased resources for the entire care chain regarding gender dysphoria, including sex-confirmatory surgery and hormone treatments. We have thus received a partial improvement and word about a potential larger improvement later on. In the mail to Jonas Andersson, I also mentioned that the members of ATRA and hopefully others as well want to meet him to discuss this further. He replied that it is possible when he isn’t traveling. We are planning to arrange a larger meeting with politicians and the management of Sahlgrenska University Hospital, where we can discuss the issue further. None of us in the association are particularly politically nor legally knowledgeable. We therefore have a great interest in any advice surrounding this. I responded to him asking for more details about the future for the treatment of gender dysphoria, and whether he wants the signatures now and receive them again when more people have signed, or if he only wants them later on.
