Dear Supporters, Thank you for raising your voice against the cruel primate pet trade happening in Indonesia. Unfortunately, we have not yet received any reaction from the Indonesian Authorities concerning this very important matter. primates continue to be traded openly and our team has responded to 9 cases of escaped ex-pet monkeys that were wandering in Jakarta, chases by people, frightened and attacking people trying to defend themselves. This week, our team from jakarta Animal Aid Network will relocate and release 32 rescued ex-dancing monkeys (Topeng Monyet) to a safe forested area for which we obtained permission from the Forestry Department. It is very frustrating indeed that while we work hard to bring 32 rescued monkeys to safety, others continue to be caught and traded for the pet trade.
