Dear friends, The bombs are falling again. Terror, falling from Russian and Syrian warplanes, has returned to the streets of Aleppo. At least 32 people including children have been killed since the start of this week. Assad and Putin feel safe in the knowledge that the world will not hold them accountable for their war crimes. They say that they are specifically targeting terrorists, but there is no ISIS here. Among the many targets this week were a children's hospital and Aleppo's dog and cat sanctuary. It is clear that these bombs are indiscriminate and designed to make life in Aleppo too difficult to bear. In that, they are succeeding. Donald Trump spoke to Russian President Putin on Monday, and expressed his desire for cooperation. But the very next day, the bombardment intensified. Is this the kind of cooperation we can expect from America? Does Putin think he has a green light from Trump? Please show us that Europe, at least, is still a friend to Syrians. On Friday, President Obama is meeting Prime Minister Theresa May and other European leaders in Berlin.
