Happy, hopeful Thursday. Thank you for your continued striving to promote our duty to care every day. Please talk to your friends and families and ask them to sign up as signatories. It took 56 years for WE THE PEOPLES OF THE UNITED NATIONS to convince the UN to create an evaluation body on how well member states were caring for their people and protecting their freedom and human rights with the rule of law. That body is known as the OFFICE OF HIGH COMMISSION FOR HUMAN RIGHTS or OHCHR and was created in 2006. It took the OHCHR another seven years, 2011, to convince the UN to pass the DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION AND TRAINING and endorse the GUIDING PRINCIPLES ON BUSINESS AND HUMAN RIGHTS. I hope you will take a moment to read the Declaration on Human Rights Education and Training, especially Articles 4 and 10, to see how important INDIVIDUALS and FAMILIES are in teaching, educating, and promoting human rights.
