In 2021, when we arrived back on campus for the school year, Johnson and Wales University - Providence Campus, moved the JWU Spirit Squad from being under Athletics to being a club sport organized by Student Government. We were a thriving program that got pushed to the side. Since we were moved, we have yet to be treated as a club sport or a sport at all by our college.

In August of 2021, the JWU Spirit Squad received 2 bids to Daytona Nationals in April of 2022 and were not able to go. During basketball season, we were only allowed to do sideline cheers due to our college not allowing us to stunt or tumble without a coach that they failed to help us with getting. We were the only team that lost their coach and got bumped down to club sports, JWU helped 2 other teams find a coach that lost theirs mid season and kept them at the Varsity level.
