Tench Tilghman Elementary and Middle School is located in Middle East Baltimore, blocks away from the Johns Hopkins Medical School and the School of Public Health. Tilghman has a partnership with the school, yet I believe Hopkins has not invested themselves enough in the partnership. The school has roaches throughout the campus, and students complain about roaches near the water sources. They also have large amounts of trash that liters the campus. I wrote a letter to Hopkins, requesting assistance for the school, but received no response. The petition's purpose is to put pressure on administration, show that Hopkins students care about these children, and start the process of making meaningful steps forward with our community partners. #DontDrinkTheWater
