My football club, Ayr United, has been told its historic badge must be destroyed due to a breach of ancient heraldic Scots law.

This law, which dates back to the 16th century, says our design is an unregistered Coat of Arms and we must be punished.

The Court of Lord Lyon, responsible for upholding this rule, is now threatening the history of my club - and crucially many others like it.

The law is out of touch in the modern day and needs urgently reviewed - and only the UK Government has the power to make a change.

The Ayrshire Post is prepared to fight this law and call for change.

This is vital not just to Ayr United, but to all football clubs and organisations in Scotland who could be the next victim.
