Y ahora, después de 3 años de trabajar duro y superar el trauma de ver a mi padre fuerte encarcelado y deprimido, mi familia se ve obligada a revivir la pesadilla de perderlo una vez más. In 2017 my father was stopped by a police officer for going 5 miles over the speed limit, and was belittled by said officer and asked, "are you even legal?". After that event, my dad's personal information was sent to ICE, and he was later detained for 2 weeks in York County Jail. We paid a $10,000 bail along with legal fees, and my dad was granted a work permit. And now, after 3 years of hard work and overcoming the trauma of seeing my strong dad incarcerated and depressed, my family is being forced to relive the nightmare of losing him once more. We are at a loss of words, he's paid taxes, upheld good moral characteristics for the 21+ years he's lived in the U.S, raised my siblings with so much love and care, has helped his community, and has honestly done so much good, that we cannot believe the judge thought he wasn't good enough to become a citizen. We can't comprehend why she would want to force us to grow up without him, and why she insisted my 9-year-old brother wouldn't suffer any more than a regular fatherless American child would. I am being forced to relive the emotions of fear, anxiety, and paranoia again, and I am begging you to please sign this petition so I don't lose my dad.
