The state of Louisiana has suspended tattoo shops from operation indefinitely.   These are local businesses that are often owned by families.  Tattooing has become a very mainstream and very regulated industry.   Tattoo artists are required to use sterilization and their sanitation practices are the most rigid in any non medical field job.   Other businesses that deal intimately with the public are being allowed to reopen.  Many of these businesses have very lax or little sanitation requirements.   Singling out the cleanest and most sanitary business based on zero reasoning is wrong.  It is hurting our local businesses and families.   Many artists work by appointment and do not have a tattoo parlor full of people such as a nail or hair salon might.  We urge the governor to reconsider this mandate and consider the lives he is impacting and the economic damage he is doing to these local businesses.

Please join us in demanding that our state handle its business in a way that allows our local businesses to operate.   Other states are allowing these shops to operate and it is just poor governing to exclude ours.
