Release all parts of Leicester from lockdown that have fewer than 5 positive covid cases

The Issue

This extended lockdown is not based on statistical evidence but geographic location which makes no sense when the infection areas should be locked down and therefore not moving into other areas.

It would be better to specifically target problem areas, containing the infection through targeted education, policing and testing, rather than a blanket type policy where credibility is lost as the infection rate is low.

Most areas of Leicester that have lower than 5 positive cases are statistically low risk and there is no evidence to suggested lockdown is justified.

This extended lockdown is impacting people’s mental health, especially children and those who don’t have any family around them.
