State politicians just don't get it. Doing sweeps will not resolve the long term issue of affordable housing, which Hawaii lacks. According to recent news article the new median home purchase is $785K, which are bought up from foreigners like; Canada, Hong Kong, Seattle and California residents. So where does this leave Hawaii families that work two or more jobs with mediocre pay? Most local families will opt for food over rent and that is the prime reason why HAWAII has the most homeless per capita nationwide. Sign this petition so "we the people" can come together and force our politicians to make a change not for the "developers", but the "people of Hawaii".
