If the "City" would propose permanent housing versus temporary housing, then that would be a viable option for long term occupancy. Waianae has at least 12 homeless shelters and an additional shelter will not resolve this issue. According to Cedric Waianae Community Board Member, let us look at Waianae residents (true), we could accommodate. However, if that is the case, then we the residents of Waianaeshould propose housing Waianae residents only that reside in our current homeless shelters. This will alleviate additional costs for land, building, etc.
The "City" has done this in the past sending a one way plane ticket for homeless residents back to which ever State they came from. We the Waianae residents should look into this, so we are able to FREE up space for our TRUE Waianae residents.
