Yesterday, Donald Trump was elected president of the United States – a racist, sexist, man who doesn’t believe in climate change and has financial ties to the Dakota Access Pipeline. We wish we could rest today to recover from the shock but pipeline construction continues. Our water and home are more at risk than ever, and we need your help. With Trump’s impending presidency, we need to take this movement up a level, so we have decided to start a new run – this time out west, to California. You can help us get there: http://bit.ly/2egDnao Between our journeys to Omaha, DC and Flagstaff, we’ve run three directions and in light of last night’s news, we know that we need to cover our fourth. California is currently experiencing the worst drought in its history, and dealing with the harmful effects drilling and fracking have on its limited water supply. We will begin the trip in a training with Chief Arvol Looking Horse, then running from San Francisco on down the coast. Along the way we’ll be meeting with clean energy industry leaders and raising awareness about the movement happening at Standing Rock. But we need funds to pay for flights, food, and cars. Will you donate $10 today to help us make it out there? http://bit.ly/2egDnao We have already secured a donated space, and several advocates who will be giving trainings to help the youth in our group continue to develop their organizing skills. With your help, we can make this trip a success – and after last night we NEED it to be a success. The Oceti Sakowin Youth
