I feel profound sympathy for the students at Auburn University and her colleagues who now have to interact with Jessica Weidman, as they are likely unaware of what a truly horrible person has been brought into their environment.
It is deeply regrettable that she was hired, especially considering her past behavior, which led to my own unjust ban from Home Depot.
This ban stemmed from a seemingly simple request: I wanted to understand why I couldn't have a single piece of wood cut, a service I believed was standard.
The situation at Home Depot that precipitated this incident involved a male employee who was already helping me . However, before he could fully attend to my needs, two other male customers aggressively intervened, rudely and abruptly taking their turn to demand his attention.
Despite this interruption and the imposition of these other customers, the employee, demonstrating a commitment to his duties, set aside whatever he was doing to address their request.
However, I did not allow him to be completely diverted; my primary concern was to ascertain the price of a specific piece of wood.
Upon asking about the cost, the employee abruptly walked away, his demeanor shifting to one of anger. He then refused to cut any further wood for me, effectively halting the assistance he was providing.
To compound the unpleasantness, the two other male customers continued to aggressively try and harass me, adding to the stressful and unfair nature of the encounter.
It was particularly galling because the employee had been there to help me first, and the subsequent events felt like an orchestrated attempt to discredit my experience.
The situation escalated beyond a simple customer service issue, revealing a troubling pattern of behavior that ultimately led to my being banned from the store, a consequence that felt entirely disproportionate to the events that unfolded.
This experience has left me with a lasting impression of how poor management and customer service can negatively impact individuals and create unnecessary conflict.
